Web Design Services for Small Business — Nationwide
American-Built Websites That Bring In Business
We're a US-based, owned, and operated company located in Baltimore, Maryland and serving small businesses in all 50 states. Websites That Rank, Book, and Get Paid.
A small business website has one job: turn someone who has never heard of you into a customer. It has to show up when they search, look trustworthy in the few seconds they give it, and make the next step obvious, whether that’s a phone call, a quote request or a booking. Most small business sites miss at least one of those, and the owner rarely knows which one.
We build websites that do all three, for small businesses anywhere in the United States. Our office is in Baltimore, which is where our name comes from, but nothing about the way we work requires you to be nearby. Every project runs by phone, video call and email, and you work directly with one of the lead developers building your site from the first conversation to launch day.
What Small Business Web Design Should Include
Plenty of companies will sell you a website. Fewer will hand you one that keeps working after it launches. Whatever size of business you run, a site we build includes these six things as standard, not as add-ons.
Your Name on Everything
The domain, the business email and every account are registered to your business, not to us. If you ever leave, you take it all with you.
Built to Show Up on Google
Page titles, descriptions, headings and the hidden details search engines read are written for the searches your customers actually type.
Fast on a Phone
Most of your visitors will find you on a phone. The site loads quickly on mobile devices, reads easily, and puts calling or booking just one tap away.
Ways to Act, Not Just Read
Quote requests, booking, payments or a simple contact form, wired to your inbox or phone so a visitor can become a customer on the spot.
Google Business Profile & Analytics
Google Analytics on every site, so you can see who's finding you and how. From the Launch Site up we add Search Console and help with your free Google listing, and larger builds include full Business Profile setup.
Copy Written for Your Customers
Plain English written from what you tell us about your business, reviewed and approved by you before anything goes live.
Why Work With a US-Based Web Design Company
Small business owners shopping for a website usually end up weighing three options: build it themselves on a website builder, hire someone on a freelance marketplace, or hire a design company. The first two look cheaper up front. Here’s what they cost you later.
Website Builders: You Rent It, You Never Own It
With Wix, Squarespace and similar tools, you’re renting the site rather than owning it, and the monthly bill never ends. Leaving usually means rebuilding from scratch. Templates are shared by thousands of other businesses, and the features a growing business needs, like real booking, quoting or payment logic, either cost extra each month or aren’t possible at all. And while a builder gives you the tools, it doesn’t give you the time or the know-how to rank on Google. We wrote more about this in website builder vs. custom development.
Freelance Marketplaces and Overseas Outsourcing
Sites like Fiverr and Upwork sell websites at a low price, and what you give up for that price is continuity and accountability. The freelancer who built your site may be gone when something breaks six months later. They may work in a time zone where your afternoon is their midnight. Language barriers are common with outsourced work, and they turn simple communication into a major headache: explaining what you want, getting changes made the way you asked, and sorting out misunderstandings can drag a small project out for weeks. And when English isn’t the writer’s first language, the words on your site can read wrong to the very customers you’re trying to win. If something goes wrong, there’s no US company standing behind the work.
What You Get From a US-Owned Company
We’re a registered American business with a written contract, a fixed price agreed before any work starts, branded invoices, and a phone that’s answered during US business hours. The people writing your pages write for American customers every day. When the site is live, the same team keeps it running on a monthly Maintenance & Hosting Plan, so you’re never hunting for someone new to make a change. That accountability is the real difference, and it costs less than most people expect.
We Show Rankings, Not Mockups
Any designer can show you a pretty homepage. The better question is whether the sites they build bring in customers. These are live businesses we built, and where they rank on Google today:
Restrooms on The Go is worth a closer look if you’re outside Maryland. It’s a South Florida business whose new West Palm Beach location went from zero to the top organic result, with 49 pages live about a week after the first conversation, built from our office in Baltimore. See every project on our portfolio.
How It Works From Anywhere in the Country
First, a Conversation. A free call about your business, your customers and what the site needs to do. No pitch deck, no pressure.
Then, a Fixed Price & Project Plan. You get the page list, what each page is for, the timeline and the price in writing before anything starts.
We Build It & Send You a Private Link. You review the site on your own phone and computer, ask for changes, and approve every word.
Launch & Follow-Through. We connect your domain, set up your business email and Google accounts, and submit the site to Google and Bing. After launch, we’re a phone call away.
What Actually Gets a Small Business Found on Google
Ranking isn’t a trick added at the end. It’s decided by how the site is built from the start, and most of it is invisible to the owner. Each page needs its own clear subject, written in the words a customer would type, not the words an industry uses internally. The title and description that appear in search results need to be written for a person deciding whether to click, and kept short enough that Google doesn’t cut them off halfway.
Speed matters too. A page that takes several seconds to load on a phone loses visitors before they ever read a single word, and Google notices. So does structure: a page for each service you offer, and for the towns or regions you serve, gives Google a clear match for each search instead of one crowded homepage trying to rank for everything. Behind the scenes, structured data tells search engines your business name, phone number and hours in a format they can read directly.
Then there’s everything outside the website: a complete Google Business Profile, consistent listings on the directories that matter for your industry, and a steady flow of real reviews. Our larger builds include them, and every Maintenance & Hosting Plan keeps building on them, because a well-built site without them leaves rankings on the table. Our article on site speed goes deeper on the first part.
Already Have a Website That Isn’t Working?
Plenty of small businesses come to us with a site that looks fine and does nothing: no calls, no form submissions, nowhere to be found on Google. Usually the cause is one of a handful of problems we see again and again: pages with no clear subject, a site that crawls on a phone, a contact form that quietly stopped sending, or a design built before most customers searched from their phones.
A small business website redesign fixes the cause, not just the look. We keep what’s working, move your content onto a faster, cleaner build, and redirect every old page address to its new one so the rankings you’ve already earned come with you. Read more about our website redesign process.
Just Formed Your LLC? Start Here
The weeks after you register a business are the best time to build its website. You’re choosing a name people will search for, setting up an email customers will write to, and deciding how you’ll take payments. Getting those right from day one is far easier than fixing them a year later, after you’ve printed business cards with a free email address on them.
A new business also has a real advantage online: nothing to undo. There’s no old site with broken pages and no listing with the wrong phone number. We start clean, register your domain in your business’s name, set up a business email at that domain and launch a site built to be found, then help you claim your Google Business Profile as you grow.
Every state handles the paperwork after formation a little differently. We’ve written guides for new businesses in Florida, where every new company is registered on Sunbiz, in Connecticut, where the state registers businesses through its online business portal, and in Washington, where most new businesses also need a state business license. Each one covers what that state expects next and how to get your business online the right way.

Frequently Asked Questions
Do You Really Work With Small Businesses Outside Maryland?
Yes. We're based in Baltimore, but the whole process runs by phone, video call and email, so where your business is located doesn't change how we work. One of our case studies, Restrooms on The Go, is a South Florida company whose site we built from Baltimore.
How Long Does a Small Business Website Take?
A focused Launch Site is usually ready for your review within about a week of getting your content. Larger builds take longer, and builds with custom booking, payments or customer portals can take two to three weeks depending on scope. You get a firm timeline before work starts.
What Time Zone Do You Work In?
Eastern. Our phones are answered 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Eastern time. For a business on the West Coast, that means mornings work best for calls, and email works any time.
Who Owns the Website When It's Done?
You do. The domain, the business email, the Google accounts and the finished site are in your business's name. You can host with us on a monthly Maintenance & Hosting Plan or take the site to another developer at any time.
How Do I Pay if I'm in Another State?
You can order the Launch Site, Full Build or Coverage Build right on our site and pay a 50% deposit at checkout, by card or bank account. Your initial consultation follows, then your Project Agreement with the deposit credited, and the balance is due at launch. If you'd rather talk first, you get a branded invoice by email and pay online the same way, with the price fixed before any work begins.
Can You Redesign the Website I Already Have?
Yes. We rebuild the site and point every old page address to its new one, so whatever rankings your current site has earned carry over instead of starting from zero.
