Case Study
Restrooms on The Go — South Florida
Ranked #1 organically for “porta potty rentals west palm beach” within days of launch — and taking the first, second and third organic positions, directly beneath the paid ads, across many other search terms and nearby cities.
The Client
Restrooms on The Go is a multimillion-dollar portable restroom operation based in the Baltimore metro, about ten years in business, servicing Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C. The owner was opening a second location in West Palm Beach, Florida. In the mid-Atlantic the company had reputation and relationships built over a decade. In South Florida it was starting from zero.
The Problem
No local search presence, no ranking, and no way for a contractor or event planner in Palm Beach County to find them. The existing site was built for the original market and carried none of that weight south.
The competition was the real obstacle. Search results for portable restrooms across South Florida are crowded with national aggregators and lead brokers, plus operators running paid ads on every term worth having. Most of the sites ranking were out-of-area companies with a single thin page for each city.
The Build
- 49 pages built in a single focused sprint, live about a week after the first conversation
- Separate pages for each unit type and use case — construction, events, emergency and disaster response, long-term rental
- City and county coverage pages written with real local detail for the towns actually served, not one template with the city name swapped
- The previous domain permanently redirected page-by-page so existing history carried across
- Google Business Profile aligned to the new site, with 24/7 hours reflecting genuine emergency availability
- Review-request cards produced for drivers to hand customers at pickup
The Result
Google indexed the site within 24 hours of the sitemap being submitted. Within days, southfloridaportablerestrooms.com held the #1 organic result for “porta potty rentals west palm beach,” along with the second and third organic positions, immediately below the paid ads — and it is taking the top three organic spots across many other search terms and nearby cities in the same way.
That is organic placement earned by the site’s structure and content, separate from any advertising the business runs. The Google Business Profile side is still building as reviews come in, which is the next lever rather than a finished result.
One note if you go and check it yourself: Google weights local results by where the searcher is. Running that search from Maryland will not return what a customer in Palm Beach County sees. That is how local search is supposed to work, and it is exactly what this build was structured to win.
What Happened Next
The owner saw the results inside a week and signed two more pieces of work:
- A full Spanish version of the Florida site, with an email system that translates between the owner and Spanish-speaking customers in both directions — a real requirement in South Florida, not a nice-to-have
- A rebuild of the original Baltimore-metro business — the same local search structure applied to a ten-year-old operation covering Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and Washington, D.C.
Both are under contract and scheduled for a later deployment. The second contracts are the part worth noticing: the Florida build was the trial run, and winning the Spanish build and the ten-year-old flagship afterward is what happens when the first promised results hold up.
